The SPBA has a vibrant domestic competition running two seasons per year with all age groups represented from U8 to Seniors including Mixed with close to 3,000 members participating weekly in our competitions throughout the year.

Statutory Declaration Forms – all coaches and team managers of junior teams must submit a completed declaration prior to the end of round three of the Summer 2018 season.

3×3 at southern peninsula

3 x 3 Basketball is back at the Southern Peninsula Basketball Association with a 8 week competition starting in Term 4 which will run on Tuesday Nights.

3 x 3 Basketball is really starting to take off in Australia with our Senior teams both recently winning medals at the FIBA Asia Championships along with the recent introduction of the NBL 3×3 pro Hustle.
An Olympic sport for Tokyo 2020, 3 x 3 is a super quick game that provides opportunities for everyone to truly demonstrate their abilities.

Southern Peninsula Basketball Association offer the following competitions:

  • Monday Night – Men & Women
  • Tuesday Night – U14 Boys and Girls & 3×3 Competition
  • Wednesday Night – Men & Women
  • Thursday Night – U16s, U18s, U21s
  • Friday Afternoons – U8s
  • Saturday – U9s, U10s, U12s, U14s
  • Sunday – Mixed

How do I find a team?

There are many of junior and senior teams that play in our competitions. Players are responsible for finding or creating their own team however we do have the Team Connect page which enables players to post their info online for teams to find.

When do the seasons run?

SPBA operates seasons in:
-Term 2 & 3 (Winter Season)
-Term 4 & 1 (Summer Season)

The domestic competition runs 6 days of the week out of the Dromana Stadium (Dromana Secondary College) and Hillview Stadium (Rosebud Secondary College).

Who can play?

Participants range from 6 years through to the ages to 55+ for both men and women. These competitions are a great opportunity to play sport in a safe, positive and fun environment for all.

Which competition should I join?

Born (SUMMER 2019):
Born: 2012 or younger – Under 8’s
Born: 2011 or younger – Under 9’s
Born: 2010 – Under 10’s
Born: 2008/2009 – Under 12’s
Born: 2006/2007 – Under 14’s
Born: 2004/2005 – Under 16’s
Born: 2002/2003 – Under 18’s
Born: 1999 or younger – Under 21’s

Forfeit FineS

Notified forfeit fines are $55.00 prior to the following times:
Monday game – must notify prior to 4pm Friday
Tuesday game – must notify prior to 4pm Friday
Wednesday game – must notify prior to 4pm Monday
Thursday game – must notify prior to 4pm Tuesday
Saturday game – must notify prior to 4pm Thursday
Sunday game – must notify prior to 4pm Friday
Notification with less than the required time is $110.00.
